So am I under the assumption that until Kydera comes out with a new and improved IAP programmer....We will not be able to do any firmware upgrades? i.e. loading the 180k contact .cvs files as well? Do we have any idea when this is going to happen?.....thx....73

IAP does not have anything to do with Contact. It is only used to upload Firmware binary file to radio. CDR300 only one files and Portable 880 has 2 binary file one for A and B
Contact is uploaded by CPS as the have integrated the upload utility inside CPS instead of using another Apps.
and Contact upload as it should either 16 or 128 bytes.
The problem is the actual Firmware that does not supporte all the info, only callsign.
But future FW would give all the info, like VA2DG Daniel St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, Can.
We are just waiting for the new FW to test. But KYD is kind of slow on this.
We are expecting it by end of month if they sold their 500 radios...
