Hi,
I am trying to install the CPS for the CDR-300UV mobile on a Windows 10 machine which seems to go OK, but I am unable to read the radio.
Are there drivers that need installed or does the radio need to be put in to "read mode"
I know it must be simple when you know how, but after a late night programming session with no success some pointers would be helpful !
Regards Allister

Hi Allister As soon as you plug your cable in the USB port of your PC it should find the drivers. Next look in your device manager for the com port that show the name Profilic in it. Also the com port must be below 10 CPS accept only com port from 1 to 9. Next open your CPS look for the com port. Like the picture below. Then connect the cable to Radio and Power on you radio the normal way. Then you should be able to read Another thing i dont see how you can program your radio in CPS if you have not read the radio. You must read the radio. Save the original CodePlug then you program it from the codeplug you have read. Let us know if you can read your radio.

Morning Daniel from a Stormy Scotland !
Thanks for the conformation that there are no specific drivers and that the Prolific chip is in the radio.
I will have another go at that later today on another PC ( Microsoft Surface) that I use for the radio programming and report back.
All the Scotland Brandmeister talk groups have been tidied up so the code plug programming should be much more logical with the Zones allowing a variable number of channels.
Regards Allister

Ah, that's helpful to know ,
I have a few Anytone, Kenwood and other radio's that use the same USB to K2 connector, better get the label maker out and get a permanent sticker on the lead that came with it .
Daft question really, is the "prolific chip" in the cable a real prolific chip ?

Hi Allister, I'm having same issue with the Kydera that I just bought "new"? Long story. But it is not recognised by the computer.
I've seen this before in a Retavis ht and after digging around flung that the built in FTDI chip can be damaged by a lead with the chip in resulting in issue as we are experiencing here.
I hope you have a resolution to this problem and that you can share to avoid me arguing with the vendor of my radio.
Regards, Roy.

Fired up my old windows 8 laptop, downloaded RT73 cps from Retevis website plugged in Boafeng lead. Still no reading from radio. So installed old prolific driver. Still no reading from radio. Checked com port it was 38, moved to 2 and bingo! Read/write now work.

Download a prolific driver according to the programming cable you are using, If windows can't find one there are plenty of websites you can get one from.
