It will be nice to see in the next firmware: - Promiscuous Mode youtu.be/GHACanI_s4o - When signal is receiving radio exit from menu. This cannot be available. Radio should be stay in menu! - Possible to change channel / volume from microphone Please send this information to the software developer.

The radio has a promiscuous mode. Put "Mandatory mode" on a short key and press it "promiscuous mode on " appears

The 'Mandatory' mode allows to hear any traffic on the talk group you are currently monitoring. If you current channel is on TS2, all traffic on TS2 only will be heard.

Promiscuous mode is also useful on the RT73 since it is dual watch. If you define the repeater zone to do this then Put TS1 for example on the upper display and TS2 on the lower display - turn promiscuous mode on and you can hear ALL traffic on that repeater.

Are you sure ? Do you hear two conversations on both slots at the same time ? My Kydera 800UV is exactly the same as the 73 ..it only has 1 receiver and flip-flops between band A and B and will lock onto either band when a signal is detected, disabling the other band RX and TX.

Nope the 73/330 can't. Just one or the the other display but not simultaneous.
The HT DR880uv can do it as there are two independent receivers inside.

DMR usage is beginning to seem a lot more "art" than "science" :-)
You're probably correct in that I won't hear two conversations simultaneously on the RT73 and I will take your word that you can hear two conversations simultaneously on the Kydera 800UV. Bear in mind that I am using promiscuous mode and the dual slots on the same source so for example. By setting both displays to the same repeater and connecting the upper slot contact to a talkgroup on TS1 on that repeater and the lower slot contact to TS2 on that same repeater I should hear traffic that comes into that repeater on either timeslot. If I only had TS1 connected there could be a rocking party going on over TS2 but I would be hearing "crickets".
Most DMR repeaters I've tried locally say they are open but don't allow all talkgroups and even worse don't always (closer to never) say what talkgroups they *do* support (static OR dynamic) so listening, which is always a good idea anyway, seems to be a great tool.
Going out on a limb but I think the repeater itself will only physically transmit one conversation (TS) at a time so even with *real* dual receivers Im not going to hear two simultaneous conversations (maybe interleaved but again I think the repeater itself will pick just one). ....This does sound like a nice ham radio experiment though, to tune two completely different radios to the same repeater but different timeslots.

Your quite right Boz ! ..it is becoming an art. It's taken me 3 weeks to get a current usable contact list into this radio (without paying $10)...but that's the fun of it. Promiscuous mode pretty much only passes any talk group and any colour code and often gives only 00000000 as a caller ID...slots are selected per channel. Probably a better idea is to turn it off and put the TG's your interested into a Receive Group List and apply it to that channel. But a repeater will TX traffic on both slots at the same time...That was the point of time slots...to double capacity ...you pretty much need 2 radios..one on slot 1 and one on slot 2... hope this helps a bit.

Bos when you say they dont allow all Talkgroup, your are talking about which network? BM, DMR+,
