Hi guys,
I am a new user with the Retevis RT73 ... after much fun and games with the CPS software and codeplug construction I believe that I am almost there!!!! My final hurdle is trying to set the "Hang time" after keying up
a temp talkgroup on a digital channel... I can see the new TG I have keyup in the display but second time I key up default back to the TG I have set up in the CPS.!!!! In the CPS software "DMR Service" there is reference to call hang time for both
group and private calls but the max is 7000ms... I want the radio to stay on my temp TG for several seconds and not default back to the default TG i set in the CPS.
Many Thanks in advance

It is another problem. It would be desirable for the CPS and FW to allow a longer time, from at least 15 seconds to infinity, going through 60 seconds, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes and one hour. Seven seconds is clearly insufficient.

Cheers eb3bkw for your response!!!! How do you get round this flaw ..... do you go down the "Anytone" route and store in a separate channel for each TG or do you change the TG on the fly by re programming the channel via the far right button?

If you use a TG very regularly, create a new channel. If it is for sporadic use, may be is better reprogram a channel that I have created called "FREE" for this cases

I found that it will only 'hang' on your selected contact/talkgroup if you receive from that ID after you transmit, only then will it stay on it for the 7000ms. As you said, if you press the PTT again, without receiving anything, it just reverts back to the channels default contact...
I quickly tested it with the parrot/echo group call (TG9990) so I could get a guaranteed reply quick enough. I selected a channel on a different talkgroup and then in the contacts menu, highlighted the parrot and pressed the PTT... it transmitted on the parrot and then I get the echo reply (promiscuous mode has to be on to receive it, unless the temp TG you want to use is in the RX Group for the current channel) I press the PTT again, within 7 seconds, and it transmits again on the parrot to which I hear the echo reply. Wait more than 7 seconds and it will clear the temp talkgroup and transmit on the current channels set talkgroup.
It would be much more useful if the hang time was activated by pressing the PTT and not the receive. Also if a larger time range could be selected, 7 seconds is just not enough. I've tried to 'override' the setting in the codeplug to 10 or 20 seconds but that causes the radio to no longer transmit so it also needs to be done in the firmware, although I wouldn't expect it to be changed any time soon haha.

Cheers Dave for your responce.... I did an almost identical experiment!!!!!! I have reported the issue into Retivis now doubt many other amateurs have reported this also!!!!! My hope is that they release regular firmware updates as they released one last month. I like the radio from the hardware aspect but cannot believe that it was released into production with so many bugs in the CPS.... This is my first Retivis radio and will be my last unless they fix these fairly fundamental issues!!! My other Chinese DMR radios are Anytone ... I have not experienced any of the problems I have had with this Radio with my Anytones.. I took me about a week to get it up and running after playing email tennis with support..... I eventually had to get a factory reset codeplug from them as when I uploaded a copde plug ALL of the menus disappeared!! It was just about to go in the bin...
