Greetings! I wonder if colleagues have observed the operation of the hood on the back of the radio. I didn't see it working and the Retevis model of an acquaintance suddenly caught fire during use. Dark smoke came out and immediately a flame. He sent the equipment to Retevis for analysis of the cause. I was worried because I haven't seen the exhaust fan work yet.

Hi, ihave checked the Retevis RT73 and was suprised, that the fan isn´t running, by pressing PTT...so i tested it with a dummyload and pressing PTT for a while...if the RT73 becomes warmer, the fan starts running...released PTT and after a while when get cooler, the fan stopps...again pressing PTT to warm up the TRX, the fan starts again...and so on...so we see, the fan ist temperature controlled...

THanks

Radio that have Temp Controled FAN are the Second generation of CDR300 or RT73. THey have a new PC board and have the ability to control the Fan and also i think the also have 5vdc power injection for the Active GPS external Antenna. So only those that have the second generation radio can have that feature.
