Ive been playing with the Ham Contacts CSV files trying to get something to work successfully .
I initially installed the '02Aug2020_custom_contacts_generic.csv' file from this board which works well and displays all contact details on the CDR-300. However, I wanted to be able to create my own CSV file to keep the list up to date.
Using the N0GSG DMR Contact Manager I exported a small CSV file containing just Australian contacts (mainly to keep the file small for testing purposes). I opened the file in LibreOffice and deleted some erroneous columns and re-saved it. The data format is identical to the original 02Aug2020 file mentioned above but when I load it into the CDR-300 via the CPS, the radio will not display the contact details.
After some considerable investigation Ive found the issue was in the Radio ID field and by swapping out radio IDs I was able to confirm the problem was connected to the last contact (bottom line) of the contact list. That contact is a UK amateur with radio ID 2345285 and call sign G4LQW that has been included in my list because he lists his address as Australia.
Now here comes the weirdness:
1. If I remove this user's radio ID from the list by changing it to another number, (I changed it to 5058012 which is an unregistered number) the CSV file works when loaded into the CDR-300 and correctly displays contacts.
2. If I swap the radio IDs between this user and another user further up the list (so this radio ID is still in the list but in another location), the file also works when loaded into the CDR-300.
3. If I take the last line containing this user and paste it 3 lines further up so that its no longer the last line, the CSV file works when loaded into the CDR-300 and correctly displays contacts.
So it appears to be this users radio ID is causing the file to not display contacts on the CDR-300 but only when its on the last line. Also, this user is listed in the original '02Aug2020_custom_contacts_generic.csv' so there isnt a specific problem with his details as a user in the file.
In the images below, the first image shows the user on the last line. This CSV file doesnt work with the user in this location
In the second image I cut and pasted the user on the bottom line to a position 3 lines up. This CSV file works.
In the third image I left the user on the bottom line but swapped his radio ID with the user from 3 lines up. This CSV file also works.
I will attach the CSV file in a separate post below.
I'll be interested if anyone has a solution or a possible cause.
