While waiting for my radio to arrive im thinking that being able to turn the low power to below the 10w low power setting would make using the radio through a hotspot would be useful.

From my own test and some others I have seen, the radio is only doing 3-4w on low power anyway although it's capable of doing around 18w on high power. I was using my hotspot with the radio going into a dummy load and had no issues with the hotspot being in the same room.
Not entirely sure how the output power is being set but it would be nice to have three power levels, maybe <5w low power and then the original 10w and 20w as a medium and high power.
I'm hoping that maybe a future firmware update could at least get the current low power setting closer to the advertised 10w. Being a UK Foundation licence I can only use 10w so I'm unable to use the high power setting and as it stands now, the low power is less than half of what it should be so it's not really any better than using a 5w handheld. Should have my Intermediate test in the next few months so that won't be an issue for too long haha

I would like to have a 3rd option for power, 1/2 watt for hotspots. Could be done in a firmware update.
