Win10 F/W 109E.D4.EARSAB.005 CPS - 9-1-142
Full disclosure - I've not had a lot of time with the radio - too many life happenings but I'm learning my way around slowly. One thing I am seeing is that I power the radio on, then use the dial on the radio to change channels......all is good and works as expected.
If I remain hands off with the radio - leave the room or just dont use it for a short period of time - the dial on the radio to change channel/zones is no longer active (no change on radio if I go clockwise or counter clockwise). If I depress and get into the menus, that works, but I am getting locked out or the radio is hitting a lock time. This may be something I am not seeing in the CPS or a menu setting but is it op error (probably) or something else?
Thanks! Greg

HI GC what Firmware date do you have? the numbers you put does not mean anyting because that F/W 109E.D4.EARSAB.005 may have multiple release date. you need to supply the full date and time that you see on your Radio Screen
So reply us with the FW Date-Time and so we have an idea.
Thanks

I'm not in front of my radio at the moment to check but I am on the latest (2020-11-27 I believe) firmware and the current CPS but this has happened on the original radio firmware and a version released in October. The radio starts to TX on what looks like a random channel and stops only when it reaches the TOT value. At that time it is locked and the menu button can select but rotating will not change anything. What I have found through trial and error (besides reloading the codeplug) is that READING the program/codeplug from the radio will reset. This led to the the discovery that it is leaving the USB connected to the radio that seems to cause the problem. If I unplug the USB connection (left it powered up but USB unplugged all night last night with NO lockup). Recommendation is that if you are doing any testing after changing the codeplug or a setting then unplug the USB programming cable from the radio first.

I have a newer version of the firmware - EARSAB.007 from 30 NOV 2020. but I also observed a similar problem. the lock is off and the lock icon is not on the screen, but the menu becomes inactive until you press the BE button. in general, I have not yet fully understood the problem. just sometimes I start working after pressing BE
