hi there im using 109E.D4.EARSAB.005 on a cdr 300uv. CPS vers. 2.1.142
Im experiencing some issue with the tone button.
i allready put my code plug into the radio, and if i touch the tone button accidently it will change the tone preset on the code plug. is there a way to disable the tone button or make sure that the tone preset stay the same in the code plug as it was in first.
Thanks for your Help

Hi Stephane First you did not followed the instruction for the required info. the Firmware DATE it very important because the number you have entered is the same for most firmware we need date. The CPS Ver you wrote is not a valid one. this is not what you have on top left corner
Your should start your post with these 3 lines below as an example.
109E.D4.EARSAB.005
Aug 21 2020
CPS 9.1.142
That said You mean pressing the Tone/T.Sel on the radio? It does happen on Analog Repeater Channels only? If you look at your display on top right if your repeater is a - you will get your default set by your CPS programming to -QT if you press the Tone button will will move to -DQT -DQI - noting then -QT this is normal and this is a toggle that goes thru 4 cycles. But as you said it does change the Tone and it should not. Ii have one set to 103.5 and after pressing Tone and back to -QT i could not key the repeater. you have to Hold TONE for 2 sec then set back you tone in RX then anothe quick press on Tone will got to TX tone and you set them with the rotaty buttion once you have set RX anTX tone you press Menu to save And this button is not configurable. i have never had complain about that button so far. THis button on DMR as no effect.
But i will report it to the beta test team and will ask Kyd to fix it.
Thank for reporting it.

Yes thanks for the reply sorry for the misunderstanding... So the right version of the firmware was 109E.D4.EARSAB.004 and was from 2020-08-05.
And like you said I has happen on repeater analog channel. I think that fonction should be optional or can be disabled ... Instead of being place like so on the radio ... I understand that other ham membre could use this option more often but I don't ... And by mistake one of my friend push some of them on the radio and I didn't why the radio as that problem ...
So far, now I know that issue and it can fix it Thanks for the understanding

That tone button wiping out the analogue repeater CTCSS tone setting is the biggest bug bear I have with the rig so far. I'm thinking of getting some Sugru putty and moulding over the button so it can't be pressed accidently. I use the rig in my truck mounted over head in a centre console position so can't see the buttons on the road and its so easy to press that tone button accidently. That button has no use to me seeing tones can be set via the main knob and menu. I wish it could be disabled via the menu. So annoying that it wipes the setting, rude behaviour.
My firmware is dated august 2021.

I have the same problems with this button all the time. The tone settings in the memory channels in analog mode are lost. It would be nice if they assigned another more useful function to it. If there is no solution, then you will have to use superglue so that it is no longer pressed.
