Hello,
first I flash the newest firmware to the CDR-300UV via pressing 'Power+P1' powerup then flashing via IAP 'firmware' => Radio. It works and the new Firmware is in the Radio.
second I flash my new self made codeplug via CPS2.1 codeplug => Radio. 1st it shows in the display "Flash write" after 2 seconds "Timeout" blink 2times "Timeout" - failure.
What went wrong?
Interest wise the read is working I can read with the same COMM3 align all data from the radio but not write what can I do? Is 9600 8N1 OK or shall I write a other speed and format?

Are you putting your radio i flash mode ( PWR +P1)? This is use only when you upload a Bin file YOu need Latest CPS 2.1.11 which is in the Download area. you should have this version number on top left corner YOU should not have to play with speed on the Com port, i have the same speed setup as you do By the way have you read the Mandatory instruction before posting?kydera-ham.boards.net/thread/133/mandatory-firmware-version-needed-post

Hello Daniel,
sorry this don't work it is the same timeout also this CPS. Win10pro 64bit and version v9.1.142 Maybe the version is not good for pro? can you help me is it the driver on the Prolific chipset or is it the Radioversion I take the newest one. Can you tell me what I must have in the Device-Manager write in 115200 baud 8N1 or a other speed and Hardwareshacking off or on or Xon/XOff?
Thank you 73 OE1DOA de Volker

In my case its 9600 8N1 and no flow control. Normally no changes must ever been made by hand. Driver Profilic 3.3.2.105 Oct. 27th 2008. Don't know if I installed the driver once for another radio (could be) or if it was included in Win10 already.
Sometimes it'll help to change the usb port. You'll normally get another COM port assigned. Worth to test.

Thank you DK5BM, I would like to make a update from the driver - so lets have a look. What should I do to play in the codeplug?
I connect the Radio to the USB Serial Cable and start the CPS load the codeplug (that work fine) and then I press "write" the "write flash" is green and then after 2-3sec. "timeout" in Red is on the display. the Device Manager is 9600 8N1
what shall I do it end in an timeout error maybe I must press buttons before flashing the codeplug? but what for a combination. For the IAP firmware I press On+P1. There is writen the model 880 and not my Radio CDR-300UV? How I can change this? During flashing there is something written on the screen "Frequenzy out of Range"
Solution: If you program the Kydera CDR-300UV you need axact the codeplug from the same Radio - READ it first out. Manipulate it and store it then WRITE it back to the Radio - finish!

Physical port in the device manage show 9600 8 N and you dont touch that the CPS will control the speed and if you look at the bottom left it is usually connected at 115200 baud 8N1 Nothing to do. I have it on Window 10 64bit and Win & 64 bit and i does not need drivers to be installed unless you had MS update that did screw up with your driver.

sure, you can't use anything else. Since there is no "example" codeplug available you first must read it from the radio, then after modification write it back. Also the CP from the 880uv is a bit different and will give you a timeout on the 300.

Of course I used a other codeplug from a other Radio that don't fit in the CDR-300UV and can not be edit at the Model Site. One other problem is that you can't export the Data outside the Zone List. So you must use the CPS to configure it. You can't export/import as a text list for editing inside a other program i.e. Calc, Excel or a Text list Editor. All todays microcontroller have a USB, ISP, I2C and so on interface but this Radio make again the failure that is a RS232 build in this is obsolete!

Since all radio manufacturers are using a different type of codeplug none can be interchanged, mostly not between radios from the same brand. It works between TYT UV380/MD9600 and/or Anytone 868/578. Another bad one is Hyterea were the codeplugs won't work if you have a slightly different firmware.
I also mentioned before that it was a bad idea to use this slow usb/serial adapter again for programming. TYT made it right years ago when they connected USB direct to the processor for the MD-380 what will give you 10+ more speed. Anytone followed this way, so it takes only 2 minutes to put the full database into the radio.

We must make a difference between professional Radio and HAM Radio Radios. Professional Radios don't have duo band and no knob to align the frequency or something inside the Radio (Professional Radios can't aligned from the user) - so all other radios are HAM or Hobby Radios. Most of them are not allowed to use in the Country's of the world. It is only allowed for Licensed users like HAM Radio operators. And not in Frequency like the Manufacturer produce it. Codeplugs for a i.e. Hytera, Motorola are not good usable for HAM operators this are Radios for Organisations like the Malaysia Police they use Hytera Radios. HAM usable Radios are like Kydera with two bands etc. and a Interface for Human in the front.
Why the programmers are every time making the same failure? A xls list will be good to edit the Channels List. For example if you would insert after a Repeater-list one TalkGroup more you must edit the complete list and you can't insert between two repeaters - why they making this failure every time again? And don't compare it with a Professional Radio this is a other Story on Professional radios are nothing changed during the life of a Radio like this. In HAM Radios are every time change some things etc. If a new TG (TalkGroup) is coming so you must enter the list again - RS232 is obsolete since 2000 and all microcontroller what you buy today are have USB, I2C, ISP and so on...
