Hello my name is Volker and I'm OE1DOA located in Vienna Austria. I arrived a CDR-300UV from Catherine from Century Communication so I should test this radio and write a bug report list till the last DM880 radio.
Question: is there only a programming software that used Microsoft Windows (which version?) and are the OLE files needed? And/Or should be a Microsoft Office pack be installed? If yes - they don't understand that is a depend on problem! If it is so we don't make any test on it!
A modern radio must have a Homepage and or a file that can be edit on a text editor (I say that 1000. times and they make a Microsoft CPS again) and not like depend on.
A "depend on product" is a product where you need a extra paid software like a OS from Microsoft and a extra paid Software like Microsoft office. This is a no go! So cost the product for the customer more then it first safe there money.
Where is the bugfix-list? I made one for Kydera but I think they don't use it!?

I just checked the latest CPS on a clean Windows10pro/64 notebook with no ms-office or other additional things installed.
I'll run.
Don't know what you want to tell us about editing a codeplug by hand as a text file ?! What radios again are using this technology ?
Yes they did, like any other. So if you don't want to use MS products to programm your radio you should better send it back.

OK the CPS work on Win10/64 without office that's good! (early versions of the CPS from the 550 work only with a Office Pack so the OLE functions will be used).
Codeplugs that you can edit with a codeplug.xls data or a codeplug.txt will be easier to edit then a special file - that is a step beyond again all other CPS working programs.
If you have it in text form so you can made automatic generated codeplugs without working by hand every step after every step (like Hytera's list you be old after you edit a list like this and with this method).
Normal it should be have a Homepage to edit it over a Network this will be the future. It must be with a browser and must be a list for automatic generated from a database.
'Like any other' - this is not a development if you make it like all the others. It must be made better not like all others!
