I've tried all I can think of to get the caller alias screen to work. Here's my config info: CPS version - 9.1.142 (2.1.11) Firmware version - From CPS Device info screen - 109E.D4.EARSAB.005 Aug 21 2020 From radio menu - DRS-300UV 109E.D4.EARSAB.005.F135-180 Aug 21 2020 14:35:28 Contact menu on the radio shows 1/171838 (Used contact file that was zipped up in the firmware/CPS file from this site) Contact menu on CPS looks good. Used 128 byte mode to write the contacts list to the radio. Took about an hour to write. Contact detail on the radio shows all the correct info including ID, nick name, name, city, state and country.
All I see when a station is received is the ID number of the station, not the full screen caller alias info. I have the display mode set to CHN+Name. When I change the display mode to S/D, thinking maybe that's the problem, one of the channel (A/B) windows is empty and no luck getting caller alias info.
I think I have everything setup correctly, but maybe I missed something. I'm using Windows 10 Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks, Roger - N6DVZ

Got it figured out. It turned out to be the contact list that was included on the Aug 21 firmware zip file is bad. Created a new contact list, wrote it to the radio and now works.

Roger i am surprise because i have use the same Contact list that was on ZIP files on both of my radio and i have no problem. I did package it in the ZIP.. I will download it and re upload to one radio and see it the problem is there. Question? Before you uploaded the CSV did you open with Excel to look as it and them save it.

Hi Daniel, Thanks for the reply and all you do to coordinate and test firmware releases. It is very much appreciated. I did open the csv file with Excel to take a look before writing it to the radio. I was unaware that doing so modifies the file causing problems. I downloaded a "fresh" copy of the contacts list, modified it to work with the 300UV and all works as it should. Roger N6DVZ

Hallo Roger, in the case that you have opend the csv file with excel and save it with excel, please check the delimiter. It must be a comma and not a semicolon.

Beware of the Quote on some download form the WEB All the Contact list i publish dont have the quotes. I alway use Preview in Windows files explorer, then i look hat the csv if it contain " " if so i just open the file with Notepad+ and do a find " replace with blank and get rid of the "" then save as CSV. Picture below show top a bad CSV with quotes, Bottom one is a good one. I had uploader the top one one time and i see the " " on the screen of the Radio in RX..

It depends on the used database and the program you're working with. MS excel is doing what you have set in your regional setting. For example in Germany the "," will be replaced with ";" by default if you're saving it as .csv again. I have a good experience with Libre Office. It's a bit slower but doing it right as you can check the seperator setting while you're saving the file. I'm not sure were the databases with "" are coming from as I have never seen one before. Maybe you'll get the "" because of strange import settings.
Before there were databases available for all kind of radios I always used the "original" user.bin to create them for all my radios.
